Heru Visits TB MDR Service Facilities at Tarakan Regional Hospital

Acting Jakarta Governor, Heru Budi Hartono, Wednesday (9/11), visited the Tuberculosis Multi Drug Resistance (TB MDR) service at Tarakan Regional Hospital, Central Jakarta.

This completes our commitment to treating TB patients

Heru said the TB MDR service at Tarakan Hospital complements the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment in handling Tuberculosis (TB) patients who are resistant to conventional treatment.

Heru assessed that various TB MDR service facilities developed by Tarakan Regional Hospital are good. The service is completed with special room facilities, isolation and ICU, as well as competent health workers.

"This completes our commitment to treating TB patients," Heru said.

Heru added that handling TB patients will be more effective by cooperating more with surrounding regions such as Bekasi, South Tangerang, Tangerang, Depok and Bogor.

"Data on TB sufferers last year reached 60 thousand. This is surely high," Heru added.

Heru, who was also accompanied by Health Agency Head, Ani Ruspitawati, also visited the integrated services for burn and stroke patient service facilities.

"Hopefully a healthy Jakarta society can be provided through this hospital development with good equipment," Heru continued.

Jakarta Health Agency Head, Ani Ruspitawati, explained the TB MDR is a health facility that handles patients who are resistant to drugs and cannot be served by the Community Health Center.

She added that this TB MDR has outpatient, inpatient, ICU, OK, radiology and pharmacy service facilities, which are integrated in one special area.

Then, the burn service has inpatient room facilities, OK and ICU. In addition, the burn service also has isolation facilities for patients with cases accompanied by infections that are made in one cluster.

"The TB inpatient capacity is 10 beds and there are 2 ICUs. For burn inpatient services, there are 12 beds, OK and ICU there are two beds," she stated.
